Project Better Place

Here is a video from Project Better Place, the idea by Shai Agassi to promote the idea of using electric cars for the entire country of Israel in 2010. Renault-Nissan would provide the electric vehicles and there would be electric recharge grids across the entire country. Drivers would own their own cars but would pay a monthly contract for the mobility service of using the battery and recharging stations. THe Israeli government would have tax incentives on the zero-emission vehicles to make them more affordable than regular fuel cars. This should be a very exciting project that could change the world if it is successful. Before being CEO and coming up with the idea for Project Better Place, Shai Agassi was to be the next CEO of SAP. He resigned and instead worked on this project raising more than $200 million from VantagePoint Venture Partners, Israel Corporation, Morgan Stanley, and other private investors.
