WhereCampSF took place on June 2-3, 2007 at the Yahoo Campus in Sunnyvale, CA. WhereCamp is a gathering of geo-enthusiasts, web 2.0, developeres, hackers, and geographers to share ideas, projects and discussions related to the Geo industry and mapping technology. The sponsors included Yahoo, Where, Meadan, and Google and the events included a catered breakfast, lunch, and BBQ dinner.  The format of this conference was pretty interesting as the 200 or so attendees get together at 10am to come up with sessions that people would like to present throughout the day. Some of the topics that were covered included: Local Food beyond Organic, Google Street View Hacking, OLPC (One Laptop per Child), LIDAR, GPS API, GPS/LBS on Mobile devices, GeoSearching, and more. This was an interesting approach as the sessions were very attendee driven and open ended. A lot of attendees brought their own laptops as some sessions were very hands on and interactive while others had demos and presentations.
